Big news for malaria and rotavirus
May and June were milestone months for malaria and rotavirus vaccines, marking a major trial for one and global acceptance for the other.
The final step for malaria vaccine?
On May 26, the world’s most advanced malaria vaccine candidate entered the final phase of testing. Soon to spread to more than 16,000 children across sub-Saharan Africa, it is the first trial of its kind—and the culmination of decades of research. Thank you for the support that helped us get this far!
A lifesaving global standard
Earlier this month, the World Health Organization made its first formal recommendation that all national immunization programs include rotavirus vaccine. This new standard will help ensure access to rotavirus vaccines in the world’s poorest countries, where the majority of more than 500,000 deaths from the virus occur every year.
